I would definitely give the second one a shot! My experience was that I struggled with R&R, but then later tried the next one and *that's* the one that hooked me, so you might have that happen too.

In addition to the Diana Wynne Jones books already on there, I wish he'd added her books Dark Lord of Derkholm and Year of the Griffin to the list. I'm also gonna mention again the Bartimaeus trilogy by Jonathan Stroud, I read those books last year and they are INCREDIBLE. *_* Also YES to Six of Crows, I just read that a couple months ago and loved it! I'm also really loving Seanan McGuire's Wayward Children series, and her InCryptid books, and Sparrow Hill Road, can't wait to see him get to October Daye, and I SO wish he'd do Feedback, since he's read Newsflesh, as well as any of the stories in Rise that he hasn't already read.

I know people are gonna be like "wait and see! it could be misleading!" but what I'm already seeing is fucking terrible, and frankly the show has already burned through all my goodwill, so I'm not too trusting of the Crewniverse at this point, to put it mildly. This looks a lot like demonizing Sapphire, breaking up the ONE healthy relationship on the show, and writing BOTH Ruby and Sapphire WILDLY out of character. The fact that Steven is explicitly shown as caring more about "what if they never form Garnet again?" than about their individual feelings doesn't bode well, especially as that seems to be the thing all the suspense in this is over. Like yes, I get that Garnet is important to Steven, but it's shortsighted and selfish to put that above how Ruby and Sapphire feel about being lied to and manipulated by his mother. I feel like this bomb is gonna be about artificially creating a conflict between the two by writing them OOC, and then resolving it in the space of those five episodes the way the Sardonyx arc played out. And looking back at it, I HATE how that got resolved. Plus, as usual, Amethyst is gonna get the shaft development-wise and they'll forget Peridot is living with them, because god fucking forbid she get to DO anything now that her redemption arc is done. *sigh* I have a feeling it's all leading up to forgiveness/apologism for Rose/PD, and eventual "redemption" for the Diamonds, neither of which I'm thrilled about. This fucking show.

Yeah, I really love what I've heard of this series' music. <3 I think Wind Waker has my fave soundtrack so far, with ALBW, OOT, and MM are all close behind.

Ocarina of Time! :D It sounds like you're playing the N64 version, which I haven't played? I've only played the 3DS remaster (which changed a few little things gameplay-wise and improved the graphics, but the story is the same). I had a bit of trouble adjusting to the 3D controls when I played it too, having previously only played LTTP and ALBW, both of which are top-down 2D. I had a lot of fun once I got the hang of it, though! And gosh, I love this game's music. <3 Hope you have as much fun as I did!

(PS I totally recommend the 3DS remaster of Majora's Mask, it improved the saving system from what I've heard.)

That's pretty similar to my own experience--I played Link to the Past as a kid, but nothing really since then, so now I've been going through other games in the series, albeit in a different order. So far I've played and completed Link Between Worlds, Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, and Wind Waker, and have started but not finished Link's Awakening and Breath of the Wild. So excited to see this!

Well, everything by Diana Wynne Jones, which shouldn't surprise anyone. xD Also the October Daye series by Seanan McGuire, I LOVE THOSE BOOKS SO MUCH <3 There's other books on the list I'm familiar with that I'd enjoy seeing him read (Queen's Thief, Graceling, Inkheart), but DWJ's books and October Daye are the ones I'm most excited for.

(Gods, I wish people had gotten the Bartimaeus Trilogy on the list too, ALAS.)
