- For confirming for me that someone I love had been sexually assaulted, and teaching me how to support her afterwards.
- For introducing me to transgender writers and commenters, unwittingly preparing me for an entire year to gracefully and lovingly applaud my dad in coming out as trans.
- For pointing me toward Captain Awkward, who taught me all about boundaries and emotional caretaking and how to look out for myself.
- For showing me how to be the kind of feminist I wanted to be.
- For the laughs.
- For the friends.
- For holding up a mirror and saying "you are strong and beautiful and silly and perfect just the way you are."

THIS IS AN EXCELLENT DOG! I have no advice to offer other than yeah, I always get stuck with giant dogs, and the only way I've found to cope is to, basically, give up.
