Luckily for me I have a super sweet and understanding boyfriend who also had several conference calls he had to be on during the day, so we both just made an effort to schedule our "work time" for when it wouldn't interfere with our vacationy plans. He got frustrated a little, but that was more because I was frustrated by doing stuff in the morning, putting it away, only to get 10 texts through out the day (all about stuff spelled out in the morning email) that required me to go back online, forward the same email AGAIN and re-explain...it was very annoying, but BAH!!! We still had a great time, so I win!

Snorkeling was so cool! I've never been before and we saw tons of cool stuff. I also managed to read four Stephanie Plum books while laying out, so it all worked out for the best.

I love my candidate and she's an amazing lady (and not who was dropping the ball at all), so I really don't mind making sure things work right, even on vacation. I just wish people would not try to "impress" the candidate by appointing themselves to everything in front of her and then not doing it and knowing I'll clean it up because I'm not going to have her publicly embarrassed. Ugh, they'll show up for the fundraiser they didn't raise a dime for, but sure made sure they're listed as a host. : ( What's so stupid is that my candidate and I have total trust and communication, so it's not like any of this is fooling either of us or causing any problems. Our private texts during all of this were what made me able to not lose it and be super diplomatic in public. ; )

I saw them at Lollapalooza too and there were so many people onstage. But, they barely did anything at all, instead this blond rapper chick came out with him and rapped (horribly) the whole time while George fawned all over her, randomly muttered stuff in his mike and yelled for people to cheer for her as the greatest thing ever. It sucked.

Fantastic and also insanely frustrating due to the inexplicable failure of numerous people to handle their stuff and not bother me for a minute. Blah. Instead, I ended up working from 5 to 8AM every morning and then again in the evening for several hours because, I dunno, people don't take the initiative without massive handholding. I ended up seriously behind on a bunch of stuff I wanted to work on and did a bunch of stuff I wasn't supposed to be even in charge of because "it just won't get done if you're not here!". What.the.F.is.that??? Seriously. Oh well. So, on my short vacation, I virtually organized a voter registration walk, phone bank and launched a website...But, I also went snorkeling and caught a bunch of fish! And, had sunset cocktails with my guy every night so it was great! Sorry for the mini rant there...your question touched a still sore point with me! : )

ETA: So I don't come across as insanely unable to just let stuff be, this all occurred after I had sent out a massive volunteer notification email before I left of all these things and wrote out incredibly detailed instructions, step by step of what to do for each one...

Yes and definitely come to Indianapolis!! I'm beginning to suspect that I must know a fair number of crasstalk commenters in real life with all the Hoosiers running around here...
