Here is a thought: Most Government employees work for 20 years and then are allowed to retire with full benefits.
In light of the tremendous deficit our government is running, I suggest we pass legislation to make these government employees work 30 years (just like you and I) before they draw any retirement. With one exception being the Military. Anyone willing to fight for our country and lay their life on the line has more than earned that benefit.

I think Congressmen and Senators should have to go the 30 years as well. Obviously, most would not recieve any pension because they would be voted out. That would sure change how they represent us. Maybe it would bring honesty back into our system.

The Internal revenue employees (for example) should not be allowed to retire after 20 years for sitting behind a desk. I say keep them in the taxpayer role for the additional 10 years to help pay for what our government is spending.

We need to start pushing back as hard as our government is pushing us, with legislation that makes sense. What say you?

Quick note on Global Warming. Last night the local news in Omaha, Ne. reported that if we do not hit 100 degrees this week (and it appeared that it would not happen), that it would set a record established a long time ago. It has been unusually cooler here than I can remember.

It is funny that the media failed to tie the cooling trend to the Global Warming issue.

Again, anyone buying into this Global Warming crap needs only to look at their local weather for the truth.

Most elderly seniors can't afford their healthcare and what they fail to realize is that they will also be unable to afford the tax increase this program will place on their pension check. I dropped out of AARP a long time ago and I am glad I did. I saw no useful purpose in their organization.

You might want to consider putting your father up for adoption or possibly in an assisted living home, for it is obvious that something is wrong when someone fails to realize that he or she is getting screwed.

Health Care reform? How much money do the countless Advertisements for Viagra and other drugs on television, add to the cost of a prescription drug? Why do Hospitals have to advertise their hospitals on television? I know where the nearest Hospital is. Maybe the government simply needs to regulate the companies that sell the drugs and the hospitals that sell the service. If they would cease advertising these drugs and hospitals on primetime television I am sure the cost would drop.
Since when do we as a patient, tell the Doctor what drugs we want?
I am 61 years old and I can't remember the last time I saw a Doctor. And yes, I do have Medical Insurance. I also know of people that go to the Doctor any time they have a pain of any kind.
I know one thing for sure........EVERYONE will die and it makes no difference what lifestyle you live or what Doctor or drugs you use. Obama can shove his Healthcare up his Obam-receptical.
