Anyone have any recommendations for a pellet gun to buy? I want one for mostly hunting.

I think it depends on the type of situation you are in, If you have not that much danger and you need to stay in one spot for a while till things get back to normal, a group is better because you have more people to help with daily camp chores. But, if you haft to leave in a hurry just for a day or to and there is immediate danger, its better to be solo, cause you only need to look out for yourself, not worrying about attracting attention.

I carry a tarp and a hammock in my BoB, it is very light and its easy to set up. tents just take up to much space, and when you are thinking about being "stealthy", a tent is just begging for attention.

I would haft to agree with the "portable heater" thing, and everything you mentioned about the joy of having one around would be a good moral booster for any survival situation.

The way I see it, i would much rather be preparing all the time for something that might not happen, instead of trying to get stuff together an hour before you haft to leave with everyone else in the town doing the same thing.

That sounds just like how I was, i was made fun of a lot because i used to carry a shoulder bag full of survival tools, and i would carry that around everywhere. Right now, I would categorize myself as an off the grid "homesteader" survivalist. I have 2, secret bug out camps and they both have gardens and water and with lots of wildlife around.

I am a big time off the grid survivor, Since i was 13, i have had a secret survival location, with a garden that i went to every weekend. It was just a simple little place and i really did not know much about survival. But now I have been learning a lot more about it, and now i have 2 secret locations, with gardens and water supply right near them.

Wow, I thought that guns and ammo would have been number 1

Personally, I`m a tarp guy. Its so much easier than a tent, because you can put it up almost anywhere. Unlike a tents were you need relatively flat ground and a good amount of open space.
