Portal 2 music thread, anyone? There was a fan music video contest for "Exile Vilify", for instance. The ones I'm going to link draw from the "Lab Rat" comic and a lot of the backstory from the depths of Aperture you may not have had time to digest, so... I hope they're not too confusing.

Ahaha, when I opened the vid by Harry101UK an ad for TMNT started playing. NQN, the artist who did the humanized animations you've all seen, worked as an animator on one of the upcoming episodes.

That said, YESSS THANK YOU for these recs! I don't have anyone to co-op with, but I've checked out all of the others and can attest to their brilliance*.

Or highly TRAGIC, as opening portals on Angel tends to be. (The Pylea arc was fun, but the eventual resolution...? And the portal to Quor'toth? NOPE. Oh, and that charming little incident with amazing misogynist-man that Angel freed from a fiery cage.)

I remember seeing the trope around, but some time recently TVTropes purged or renamed all its r*pe tropes to make the titles less problematic (while acknowledging that they are problematic in-text). Anyway, the trope you named is now called NotIfTheyEnjoyedItRationalization.

Oh god the bits (that they recorded but didn't put in) where Space Sphere goes "Wanna go home", "Earth. Earth. Earth.", and "Don't like space. Too big. TOO BIG" are heartbreaking. How did they make balls of metal inspire emotions?

The central chamber is just masterfully designed. The panels that GLaDOS uses to herd you in, the ones that stare at you... the same kind that ripples and blooms around Wheatley... and then when the lights go down and tens of red eyes appear -- there is an intelligence in the walls, and it really reinforces how powerful the central AI is.

Oh, yes. GLaDOS' tinny voice, packed full of venom and helpless rage, always sends shivers down my spine.
