Yup, very much this. I was expected to levitate somehow if I wanted him to listen to me. It's just a tiny bit easier for him to lean down and give me his attention, just like I give him mine.

Or, y'know, why I get eye-level with folks in mobility devices or kids or well, anyone lower down than I am. It's a hell of a lot easier to hold a conversation at eye level. My family thinks I'm nuts because I spent a lot of time on my knees with my nieces, but it puts us all at the perfect height and despite them being small people-in-training, they're still people and their feelings matter. They GET this, too, because while some people will get their knees hugged, they wait until I'm right down there for a big bear hug and that's the best.

I've messaged both you and GJ together on the nerdlove forums, thanks so much! I'm not super active there but I'll keep an eye on it, or you can ping me that there's a response. I really appreciate it.

My Ex was VERY tall and spent most of his time half a step ahead of me, talking forward (not looking at me), so not only could I not hear him, he didn't have any possibility of hearing me.

To me it's more of a "Hey, if your partner physically cannot do a thing and you can make it more accessible, do so, okay?" reminder. I'm still pretty heartsore over how ignored I was even while he insisted he wanted my presence.

Ugh I have a dumb question I'd like to ask the mod team, is there a decent way for me to do that? It's actually not in response to who anyone is.

Honestly, it might just have been the name, but I felt like I was talking to Dancing_Fool for most of that conversation.

Or a wall.

Do walls troll now?

Hum, you think I was too harsh? Asking honestly and in good faith.

I got short because the multiple (there were multiple) points of advice, and he shut every single one down or didn't even address them, and used "tried it once, didn't work" or "DNL says don't do it on (this article that actually says YES do it)".

I guess if someone's ready to immediately dismiss anything I say when they say they're here for advice, I... stop believing they're here for advice. Especially when they KEEP doing it, or ignore anything you say and just keep saying it's impossible because of (thing you JUST said wasn't impossible).
