"The Yoko Factor"
In which the Scoobies continue to forget the fact that Spike hates them all and wants to see them suffer forever.
I can understand why they would skirt around directly mentioning the death of someone close to them, because it's a fairly common coping mechanism to avoid dredging up all of the shitty feelings that come with that loss.
Sure she can be rehabilitated to not murder innocent people anymore, I'm not debating that. But redemption requires making amends. How do you make amends for murder? How do you make amends for stripping someone of their chance to live? Of all of the possibilities ahead of them? You can't. You can never make that right, you can never take it back, or ask forgiveness because there's no-one to ask. So I can never forgive murder because the victim can't.
By "objective sense" I mean that from the perspective of basic common sense anyone that commits mass murder, rape, torture, and assault against completely innocent people is a bad person. It doesn't matter how bad your past is, it does not give you carte blanche to hurt others.
Damn right I do. It takes a great deal to make me hate a person but once I do I put my cold black heart into it.
I still have pretty much zero sympathy for Faith because I'm too busy sympathizing for the people she's assaulted, raped, tortured, and murdered. I'm actually kind of offended by the writer's attempt to make me feel bad for her because she is an objectively terrible human being.
Angelus is probably my favourite character on this show. The sheer joy he takes in what he does is just infectious.
If an inconsistent plot element allows me to enjoy the wonder that is David Boreanaz's portrayal of Angelus without the usual side dish of endless tragedy I am obligated to let it slide.
I find your taste in literature objectionable. In the immortal words of Lord Vader: "Do not want!"
