I don't think you understand the meaning of both their actual marks and just what they did during that episode, let alone the very foundations of what the CMC's are and who they are up to that point - rewatch the episode, and then read this, a brief consideration and discussion of the marks by a friend of mine. { http://pastebin.com/vxjYX6KP } - you need to rid yourself of the preconceived headcanons and concepts you thought you knew, because things are {through marketing necessity for merchendise AND for the sake of narrative continuance} much more different for a good reason than you seem to believe.

Simply put, The CMC's *are not* over.

They're not disbanded - their talent is to help ponies AS a group...the CMC's are forever, not just for their own marks.
This was even somewhat touched upon briefly in the following episode.
