youarestrange: Your post is exactly what you are griping about. It is abrasive - to me at least, you have lumped all "conservative commentators" into one group. I too am turned off by most Republicans because they are not conservative. But am I to understand that you are so closed minded that you see Glenn Beck as short sighted? You must not have been watching closely. Glenn has been talking about what could be coming for long time. He has meaningful debates in which he says if I find anything that proves what you say is right he will make that public. I worry that you are too closed minded to see any of this.

Hi Mike. I don't really see how that can be done when no one can forecast what companies will be the next ones that are too big to fail. It would be better if the bailouts stopped completely. If the company I work for goes under so be it. I will be out of work but if the company isn't strong enough to make it through the tough times it should fail. Demanding that political donations stop doesn't do us any good. Demanding that baiouts and special interest pork projects stop will save the taxpayers' money and stop the leanings of our elected officials toward their special interest groups.

I am not wealthy nor to I feel any jealousy toward the rich. I look for every opportunity that fits my situation to futher myself so that perhaps with a lot of hard work one day I can be wealthy too. However, I don't know how I will get to that goal with this government in my way. I have already seen what has done to my small part time business and my full time job. This year I will see NO increase in pay scale, no matching 401K benefit for my retirement and I also am faced with possible lay off as the company I work for is constantly adjusting to the needs of the business. My part time business has taken a nose dive in the past 12 months so I can no longer use that to get ahead either. Our elected officials have been doing a great job leveling the playing field and eventually we will all have the same no matter how hard we work. We'll all have a big piece of nothing.

I didn't even know what it was until I read these posts. Was it important because I totally missed it? Oops.

I was just surfing around and saw this posted on the Tea Parties message board.

MSNBC is doing a live poll giving President Obama a grade on his performance so far.
You might want to cast your vote.

Hello Roxanna,
I did read those amendments and the article. Looks like a great idea but as it said in the article it will only work when those states give it some teeth.

Hello Seige,
I do respect your view and I do pray for a good president. I personally have not heard or seen too many people making fun of President Obama but rather commenting and arguing against his policies and the policies of our Congress. As Americans it is our duty to voice our beliefs and opinions to our elected officials because they are there to represent us. If we choose to sit quietly by and wait for them to do the right thing it is our fault if we end in distaster. We must stand up for what we believe and we must be heard.

I have to agree with you there Rev but with so many replies it just goes on forever. Perhaps a new thread discussing what someone may have wanted to illustrate to Elliot might be more constructive. It may start a new discussion that is easier to follow. I would hate to see a great message lost in a sea of replies that no one can follow.

Hi Sam,
Were you able to purchase those to the limit. My husband and I were at Walmart yesterday and we couldn't get any. None in stock. It's rough finding them anywhere. It's scary out there!

My husband uses acronym to illustrate to our children what he is trying to teach them: I.C.E. I -- Integrity C --- Character E --- Ethics So far so good in our family. Our oldest is out of school and employed and has gotten promotions and raises because he has a great work ethic. While our 16 year old goes out once a week to look for part time work (not easy at the present time) he has yet to find work but he keeps looking. I'm sure in time his determination will pay off.
I remember when I was growing up hearing older people complaining about the younger people and how they had no gumption. Perhaps with each generation we get a little farther from where we started because we as parents forget to pass on those things that are the most important lessons in life. But perhaps the more we discuss it more parents will start to look at not only what they are giving their childern but what they aren't.
