Mercy Street is SO GOOD. I wasn't sure about this book, but you've sold me. If you haven't read it yet, you might like My Name Is Mary Sutter. Same topic. (American Civil War nursing.) :)
YAY for your #2!! Best. Book. Ever. (Also, Walden is awesome.) :-)
Thank you for sharing this list, Amy -- and for all you do to organize BBAW and spread the love for book bloggers. It's greatly appreciated! :)
This is a great compromise! :)
I look forward to autumn season, too! Enjoy that little Kate-let. :)
Aw, boo. No spoiler warning. (I'm currently reading this series for the first time.) :(
This really is a good book! But I never noticed that about the title. Now I'm a bit annoyed too...
Have you read this before? Curious what you thought. :) Enjoy!
I really connected with this book. I don't think people who are "privileged" should be overlooked in the literary/life discussion any more than people who are not. I think people should just speak, whatever their life situation. The fact that she was able to read a book a day doesn't negate that she did it. It might not work for everyone, but then, she was writing about her own journey -- not everyone else's. Only my thoughts, of course. :)
SOLD! This book is on my Nook. I intend to read it for the first time, soon. :)
