I wouldn't be too worried. We're split the way we've always been split in the state as a whole. And I would say that even with the MN Legislature turning red this year, I think people just made a bad decision that will be rectified next time.

Minneapolis is still a truly progressive city - we have problems, of course - but I still can't think of somewhere else I'd want to live.

Madison is getting intense right now. @news3jessica seems to have good on-the-ground reporting.

Also, there but for the grace of god goes Minnesota. Eight thousand votes are all that stand between us being just like Wisconsin. Our house and senate turned, but we have Mark Dayton in there as governor...if he'd lost, we'd be in the same boat.

If the Democrats show up and give the Republicans the quorum they want, there will be no discussion, no sitting down with each other.

This is 100% the only way to force Republicans into a position where they *have to* have a discussion. What about that is unclear to you?

Having suckage at your job will kill your spirit. I don't think you're truly doing anything wrong, because your brain is just giving you a giant neon sign that change is needed.

I went through that earlier this year (it wasn't my job, I like my job; it was my boss), but we've seen positive change and I'm glad I wound up staying.

I sincerely hope that your field has enough openings that you can GTFO quickly and get to somewhere new and more deserving of your skills and time.

I'm so sorry. My friend lost her mother suddenly to cancer last year and it was just awful. I'm so sorry you had to go through that.
