I've also heard valid arguments from, often conservative, theologians that the main thrust of Genesis is to argue for the one true God, while other religions at the time were polytheistic.

Great article about a great movie.

So, are you suggesting, perhaps, that our modern view of Satan is an inverted crutch, or excuse, for evil (or sin). Or maybe you're suggesting that evil is just a part of creation? Any thoughts?
