It’s funny, isn’t it, that I feel like I really have met you in person. Maybe it’s our shared love of so many fabrics and arts. Come to Midway and I’ll take you to see my mountains.
I never posted much during the Stowe contest, just to wish Midway could be the next one, and that came true. I have very mixed feelings about that whole period, it didn’t end on a good note but I made a lot of friends and even met a few of the bloggers in person. I remember teaching blogger “Wyomie” to quilt and blogger SandyLA and her husband came to visit me twice. You sent me hazelnuts from your home state, and I became fast friends with a few bloggers in Tennessee, Florida, and Utah. But for the HGTV blog, those things would not have ever happened and I would’ve been deprived of a huge comfort and friendship over a difficult time of my life. Blogger cebe46 and I are good friends and have even taught her to quilt, too. It’s really a small world, so many lovely people out there! Hokiemom reached out to me with words of heartfelt advice. I saved all those posts, sometimes when it’s a hard time, I read them and am so grateful for all these friends.
Absolutely, game on! I've only followed the homes since 2011 (Stowe) and, of course, Midway DH has my heart, but this MV property is over-the-top beaUTiful. Let's play!
Very artistic indeed! So many special accents, where to start? Love the overhead photo of the great room, the white is timeless. Mercury glass, wire baskets, gorgeous area carpets... it is a treat for the eyes. Even a bicycle to explore the island! What more could I ask for?!
I just enjoy the homes but I don’t get emotional about them, I know it’s a very very very long shot to win! By the way, we got your rain… woke up today and it is pouring! We are going out to breakfast and Christmas shopping in Salt Lake City. ttyl
That would be a great kitchen for you, Eugenia. I can just see your glass jars of nuts and the cooking you would do in there. Make me an apple pie, will you?
So far I've only explored the kitchen, I'm taking one room a day. Too much, too soon!
Excuse me, I misspoke. They didn’t “tell” until after it was announced, and after that they did post again. Her husband has written to me a time or two over the last couple years, they seem like a very nice couple and, had family situation been different, they could have taken the house and afforded to pay the taxes.
Actually, a blogger did win in 2012 in Midway, UT and they did tell.
Makes me want to get on a plane and fly directly there. Kudos to the photographer, can't wait for more!
