I agree and I will do it by my very nature. But be advised that the people who signed this document with that phrase were all in the same room with one another, knew one another, trusted one another, disagreed amiably with one another, and pledged to watch each other's back in the fight they knew was coming. They did not do it with faceless spirits floating around the ether net. Not that this isn't a good forum for ideas and talking about coming together. But real team building - real trust - happens when you are close enough to know what your bud had for dinner two days ago.
I spent time with Governor Perry last week. We had the same conversation - to a degree. Mainly we discussed the concern of the people of Texas and the direction the country is heading. The problem is that it is indeed possible to imagine the response of the Federal Government to any action that would give rise to even a hint of that goal. It is not a pretty vision. We are part of the United States of America. The option of secession was settled in 1865 when the Civil War came to a bitter end. Texas, along with the rest of the states of the Confederacy (and I had two great grandfathers - on both sides - fight with the Texas Cavalry) were reunited to the Union - no option for separate Republic. Our non-violent battle is going to be in Washington between the Government of Texas, the people of Texas AND the ruling parties on The Hill. With God's help -- that is if we invite Him back into our schools and lives - we will overcome.
Point of clarification: To the uninitiated, a Colt 1911A1 semi-automatic pistol chambers a .45 caliber (almost 1/2 inch) round from a magazine in the stock. The explosive force of the round detonating and going down the barrell causes gasses to push back the slide. This in turn COCKS the weapon for another go and on the forward movement of the slide back into battery another round is grabbed and slammed into the firing chamber. All this happens in fractions of a second. When in battery (which is automatic) the hammer is back and the pistol is absolutely ready to fire. Holding a 1911A1 under one's chin with the hammer back and the finger on the trigger is not a good thing to do - .45s tend to go off in the strangest places and at the most inappropriate times - particularly if one's finger is inside the trigger guard and one's head is snuggly inserted in a very dark place. It's not like holding a stick under one's chin ... then again, I wouldn't advise that. Goodness knows it is also not like holding a box cutter in one's face. (Wish I could have been there for that one...)
I was at a public range last month and the idiot shooting a 1911A1 (Kimber) at the firing position next to me showed me the origin of his gene pool: After firing off a round he allowed the recoil to raise the weapon so that he held the muzzle under his chin. With the muzzle in this position he then squinted down range at the taget. Then he lowered the muzzle and fired off another shot. I saw this happen twice and then packed up and ran from the range. THAT IS WHAT IS KNOWN AS UNSAFE. That the idiot was amember of a local nationally syndicated gang only gave me hope that the gene pool would soon be improved. Weapons are safe (some safer than others), it's the idiot on the back end that may be dangerous. And we have laws on the books for those folks.
I guess I've said it, but for the first time in a long,long time an American Flag ship was taken by pirates in a lifeboat! Our government piped themselves on board after the crew kicked the pirates' butts off the ship and began to "reason with the poor, disenfranchised and unloved murderers." During this disgusting, spineless interlude, the second American Flag vesel has been seized by the same dirt bags. The concept of three SEALs, three Marines, three Delta Force, or three Veterans swimming a few yards underwater, surfacing together and quickly and efficiently using a six inch blade must have seemed too violent - too traumatic - too politically incorrect - too much against specific orders from the Commander in Chief. I'm surprised three kindred spirits didn't do it anyway and seek permission later.
Get used to it. The good news is that when they "bother you" you at least have a handle on the direction of the current bout of incoming. It's when they stop "bothering" us that the real concern sets in.
My friend, it's easy to make up a simple cover to put into a "profile." I wouldn't look at that as an indicator. Many of the people are getting a bit antsy. Those in here with some inkling of the power and resources of others are quite leary not only of profiles but choose their words carefully. We have come a long way in the last THREE MONTHS (for Pete's sake) in putting distance between WE THE PEOPLE and the freedom assurances contained in the Constitution and Bill of Rights.
PARANOID CRAZIES THINK people are out to get them. Some become INSIGHTFUL VISIONARIES when it turns out that they really are out to get them.

And we wonder how what happened in another country in the 1930's could have been tolerated - when the national law not only made disgusting behavior legal but encouragead. It's difficult to fight it once the law says it's legal!
