ummm... the last time I heard about a prominent Russian official known for criticizing Putin's administration, it was news of how he had been murdered under very suspicious circumstances. Hate to be a cloud in a silver lining, but I worry for this guy. (especially considering the brightly colored ponies which might be construed as gay-friendly by a distinctly anti-gay culture.)
but whatever. I'm sort of assuming Russian-stupid = American-Stupid.

Same Artist/author as Azumanga Daioh. Humor is roughly the same style, with more realistic context.
The one thing I will say on a personal level about Yotsuba& is that I am glad I discovered it at my public library, because it inevitably makes me smile when I'm on a bus and I'm feeling dreary. ^_^ it's basically what it sounds like: watching a weird, cute kid do adorable things while viewing the normal world through the eyes of an adventurer. The side characters are also funny and quirky in their own right & part of every story with Yotsuba.

I'm thinking that Celestia is set to become the big baddie for (the end of?) this season. In fact, I'm hoping it. Bout time that Twilight had to take charge and turn on her. And I'm not saying that I hope that because I don't like Celestia or something. It's just that... as far as conflicts go, Twi's about run out. Having SOME sort of conflict with her mentor, with as far as she's come, would seem to be an inevitability. And furthermore having to fight her (if it means saving something else) would be a tough obstacle, emotionally and practically.

How old is this guy, anyway, 20? I'll give him another chance. I did plenty of shitty things when I was younger without fully realizing what a douche I was being. He said he'd stop doing it; he apologized; he gets another chance.
I'm not saying the legality of the situation should be ignored, but from a purely personal standpoint I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. I think at a certain point the hate train should stop too.

The only reason I voted for Octavia is my bitter rage over the existing fanon surrounding her: that she's from Pony Britain or some frickin' thing. Apparently music schools are things that exist exclusively in England.
