I did it. I'm at the screen where u need to set up the iphone as new or backup. I heard to set up as new is better but why? If i set as new how can i sync all contacts and appts etc?

I'm looking for some advice.

I have a 3gs with old bootrom. on 3.1.2 with baseband of 05.11.07 None of my apps are working due to the old firmware. I'm looking to update it to a newer version preferably 4.0 or above so that my apps can work, but I am not sure what to use or how to do it. If it's even possible to do at this point. I need the unlock since I use t-mobile. I am using a windows pc. If anyone can please give me some instructions it will be greatly appreciated. I am not savy with this stuff but people around my town want to charge me $40 to do this so I fig id ask and try it myself.

Guys I need your expert opinion.

I am looking to purchase the iphone 4s, but I'm on the T-mobile network. Yesterday I found videos on youtube claiming that if you go directly to the apple retail store and purchase a iphone 4s without a contract that it comes already factory unlocked. Does anyone know how true this is???

Hi guys! I had a quick question I just bought a used Iphone 4 on version 4.2.1 running 03.10.01 firmware. I wanted to know if it was possible to jailbreak and unlock with the current verion and firmware. I use tmobile. If so whats the best way to do it with out losing my gps and slowing the phone down.

Since I don't have a MAC to make a custum IPSW how can I go about doing this with windows xp without uprgading to the ipad firmware I rather not do that because I need my GPS. Is snowbreeze reliable and possible?

Or should I wait till phwange is compatible with windows?

sorry for all the questions. I don't understand this very well so I'm trying to get all the info to not mess up my dear phone.

Thank you so much for your response. It seems tough to do since I have no idea anything about this but i'm willing to try it. The only problem is that I do not have a MAC nor do I know anyone who does. The windows ipsw is problematic?

Need some advice regarding my iphone 3GS
My apologies in advance if this question has been answered already. I tried reading the other posts but I don't understand all these tech savy terms. so sorry for asking again.
I have my 3GS with tmobile carrier Ive had it for a year now it's on firmware 3.1.2 and baseband of 05.11.07 it's running a little slow but my main problem is that all my apps are outdated and I can't update them because of the old firmware. Should I update it to the most recent firmware is it worth it or will I encounter problems with the phone being slow? I also need to make sure that I can unlock the phone being on tmobile. If it's recommended to upgrade and re-unlock. Whats the best way to do it.

Hi Good Morning Dev Team and to all the great people that make this website possible. For most I wanted to say thank you for your hard work and all the responses to all my questions.
I have a friend that would like me to update his phone and jailbreak it again but I am not sure what's the best way to do it since he has a older software and firmware and needs the unlock. Here's the scenario the phone is a 3G on 3.0.1 with a baseband of 04.26.08. What can I update it to and how do I jailbreak it and unlock it? I need the instructions in simple terms since I am no expert and barely know about this stuff. lol you guys are the ones that always get me through it. Thanks in advance! <3
