The earlier story stated his son did have a life jacket on.

Well said. This is the most sophisticated environmental cleanup in world history. The cost still boggles my mind though.

This is just a promotional stunt, and a successful one if we're reading about it on a news site from Seattle. No need to get our panties in a bunch about this being "wasteful"; we waste lots of resources just by being Americans. They do feed it to people, it's not like it's thrown into the dumpster when they're done cooking and weighing it.

Good for him. Not everyone has a black-belt and an armored suit, but ordinary citizens can make a difference if we would quit turning a blind eye to crime so often. You are a hero Phoenix.

The apple sure doesn't fall from the tree in this case. I hope they never experience freedom again.

This is a ceremonial 'grand opening'; the plant is still undergoing construction. Brightwater won't be operating at full capacity for over a year. Some don't think it will come close to paying for itself (even after it is up and running at full capacity). As far as the trails go, if walking within earshot of constant highway noise and looking at engineered 'natural' wetlands is your thing than you will love it! I personally despise spending tens of millions in self-aggrandizing 'mitigation' efforts. "We're King County.. Hey everybody, come see how green we look!"

The technology behind Brightwater is impressive. It is a state of the art facility, but the necessity and practicality of it is very questionable.

"Coug-ed it": verb. To snatch defeat from the jaws of certain victory.

Come on Cougs! Improvement is not going to be good enough.

Even Tom Brady would be struggling behind this inexperienced O-line. Gallery has underperformed up to now (perhaps his injuries are to blame, perhaps not) and he is the most experienced lineman we have. There's not a single person to take the blame for our record. Considering the wholesale changes that were made to go younger, this is obviously a building year. Coaches and management would never admit to such a thing, but it's true. Maybe they chose T-Jack because they figured his legs could keep him from getting killed behind a young line.

"Yeah but that is 147 million that has been spent, funding jobs for scientists, researchers, and other people associated with the study."

$147 million Taxpayer dollars. The poster you are replying to has a point. The restrictions, regulations, and endless studies prohibit progress in many cases. Reasonable requirements are one thing, as they keep construction projects from destroying habitat and polluting excessively. But $147 million dollars on studies? Really?!! Why can't they use the previous studies from the I-205 bridge? Why start from scratch on every single project when there is precedences that can be followed?
