One difference between Portland&#039;s MAX light-rail and Seattle&#039;s attempt at it is that the MAXX system gets a lot of use (74,000 riders per day as of 2000). Expanding MAX to Vancouver makes sense. I also saw at least a dozen bikes riding across the bridge (from the few places I could see them while attempting to drive in stop-and-go traffic). If I get the job I will probably live in Vancouver and ride my bike to work at least a couple days a week.
