My cows really aren't that gentle either (they're Charolais, which are notorious for being bad-tempered), but they do all of their thinking with their stomachs. I do not, however, really grain-feed my cattle - grass-fed only. Read a book written by a doctor at McLean Hospital in Boston that links incidence of depression and other mental illness to that point 50 or so years ago when ranchers stated grain feeding cattle to fatten them up faster - took a lot of Omga 3s out of the human diet. I grass-feed to keep those little buggers in my diet, because I really am not a fish fan.

Look at Sotomayor's record - she upheld New Haven's invalidation of the firefighter promotion exam because there were no minorities who score high enough. Isn't that the same thing as saying, "Minorities are not as good, so they need allowances made"? Personally, I'd be livid! But that seems to be the attitude, and the minorities are accepting the fact that our current administration views them as deficient when compared to caucasians. I don't believe they are deficient; I honestly believe they are just as intelligent and wise as any caucasian - I just don't understand how they can misconstrue the administration's attitude.
Yes hiatttn, I have thought of it, which is why I started laying in a food supply a couple of years ago - there will be riots, there will be work stoppages, there will be an attempt at martial law (which won't work very well, since most people in the military and a lot of state governors will not support it), and - you're right, people will go hungry. Been there, done that, didn't write the book but I did write an article about it, lol. Anyone who's ever had nothing to lose knows that they can make it through the tough times. It's the ones who have always had stuff that are REALLY going to suffer!
You must be one of those people who actually believes in working to support your family - I've heard that such people are fleeing the state en masse! Beach front property for sale for a song...unfortunately, while I like the Great Lakes, I don't like the state enough to stay there and enjoy them!
