Hi. Ethan. I can certainly understand your frustration at this diversion. It does take away from the fight we currently face. However, please remember our Founding Fathers believed that Life, Liberty, and the PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS was important enough to be placed in our Declaration of Independence.

Glenn Beck has it as # 6 as one of our nine principles here at the 912Project. "I have a right to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness, but there is no guarantee of equal results."

It is real easy to become cynical. We are living in a time like no other. We must look at our past to understand our future. We must stay focused. WE the PEOPLE must take moments to rejoice in the wonders of this world and to thank God for the blessings HE has given us. Susan Boyle is one of those incredible blessings. We all need to carry a song of hope in our hearts. She sang just the right song at just the right moment and with the most lovely of voices.

Ethan, if not Susan, find something that gives you joy- if only for a moment. It is in this Pursuit of Happiness we can offer another valuable lesson to our children and give them the opportunity to dream about their own future.

Our numbers count. Despite whether or not the media will cover the tea parties, we need to participate. It was very disconcerting to read the latest Rasmussen Poll. Only 53% of Americans say Capitalism is better than Socialism. The lessons of life must start in the home. There is something to be said about homeschooling. I believe firmly this is one of the reasons why the left is so very against leaving education to parents.

"Adults under 30 are essentially evenly divided: 37% prefer capitalism, 33% socialism, and 30% are undecided."

Speaking of Hillary--- and not intended to start a chain of Hillary jokes--- remember the principles and values...
all kidding aside... she is really looking haggard... I guess the job is a little different than she expected, huh?

Hey Janice,
I appreciate your passion. However, the Navy Seals can rescue the Captain--- IF they are permitted to do what they are trained to do....

We and the rest of the world know the message President Obama is sending... we are apologetic and are on bended knee... this is the time for an Andrew Jackson or Ronald Reagan... take action and set the precedent... DON'T TREAD ON ME.

JKopecky,

I am married to an atheist. I am a Christian and pray for him everyday. I would like to submit to you that this country is founded on Judeo-Christian values and it is one of the reasons we are different from Europeans. If you have an opportunity, Dennis Prager writes and speaks about this topic extensively. An excerpt:

ut what does "Judeo-Christian" mean? We need to know. Along with the belief in liberty — as opposed to, for example, the European belief in equality, the Muslim belief in theocracy, and the Eastern belief in social conformity — Judeo-Christian values are what distinguish America from all other countries. That is why American coins feature these two messages: "In G-d we trust" and "Liberty."

Yet, for all its importance and its repeated mention, the term is not widely understood. It urgently needs to be because it is under ferocious assault, and if we do not understand it, we will be unable to defend it. And if we cannot defend it, America will become as amoral as France, Germany, Russia, et al.

First, Judeo-Christian America has differed from Christian countries in Europe in at least two important ways. One is that the Christians who founded America saw themselves as heirs to the Hebrew Bible, as much as to theirs. And even more importantly, they strongly identified with the Jews.

For example, Thomas Jefferson wanted the design of the seal of the United States to depict the Jews leaving Egypt. Just as the Hebrews left Egypt and its values, Americans left Europe and its values (if only those who admire Jefferson would continue to take his advice).

Rsexteriors, I agree with you-- but you and I are in the minority here. I attended the Cincinnati Tea Party last month and that is what the word was. The American people are angry-- I'm with them. I just don't know that term limits is the answer. Ohio also has term limits and there is nothing but chaos. There is something to be said about experience-- Ohio has chair heads that are rookies. That sets a dangerous precedent also. Well... look at this way... how did Ohio vote in the Presidential election? Ah yes... after about a gazillion years
of voting Republican they voted for a Democrat...

Nancy, I love your passion and I love your conviction in faith and Lord Jesus Christ. I would like to submit your argument does not work for someone that carries a different faith than you. How do you argue faith with an atheist? How do you prove that faith and trust in God is something that can not be physically touched? I would like to suggest you focus on changing your argument to something that will challenge the person you debate to question their foundation. I am married to an atheist. I have had plenty of practice in honing my argument--- not to mention a lot of prayer. I ask you to stay strong in your convictions, but to base your argument in tangibles. If you leave the person ticked off and speechless--- you have put a chink in the armor. Congratulations! Keep up the good fight.

No doubt that it starts with the children. Sadly, my husband and I do not have children of our own, but our nieces and nephews and children of our friends are important to us. Education is critical. But more important is WHO is teaching the children. It takes a special soul to teach. The hurdles that have to be overcome are immense. The left have the colleges and are deeply embedded in the public school system. My grandparents (part of the greatest generation) still champion this fight. They have been fighting this battle since the 60's--- It's critical Sergeant Major that you continue to pass the torch to the younger generation. It is obvious based on your own children that they have the same convictions as their father. Continue to make a difference.

Sergeant Major, Let me tell you something. I come from a family of Marines-- 4 generations worth. My father and uncles came home to horrible behavior. They were instructed to wear civvies and to let their hair grow a little bit so as to not be identified as military. I am so sorry the men that served this nation so proudly during Viet Nam had to come back to that crap. I can assure you that every opportunity I have to thank active duty or a vet... I do so.

I look forward to reading your comments and expect to learn lots and lots.
