Thank you KOMO for printing this entire document!

Folks, please take a moment to read through the list of Oppressions against King George and ask yourself if we are once again becoming subject to a government that wants to rule over us. Our forefathers fought and died for our right to live our lives in freedom.

Never forget that a government that is big enough to give you everything you need is big enough to take away everything you have!

(Before you jump all over me - I am talking about BOTH political parties and their incessant desire for more and more control over every aspect of our lives, our businesses, our finances and our families!)

Actually, Harold LeMay made his money in the garbage business in Pierce County. That's what gave him the funds to purchase all of his cars.

(I blast KOMO often enough about their editing - it's only fair that make note of it when they are correct.)

Sadly, you are probably correct.

Oakie,

Please see the comment from Woodswalker below, as well as my response to it.

I freely admit to being human, and therefore prone to error, but I am fairly careful on my grammar and did mean to write the sentence with the exclamation point outside of the quotation marks. I will plead guilty to missing the comma prior to beginning the quote.

Thank you! You replied before I could, but that's exactly why I phrased the sentence as I did. The comment from the teacher was what was contained within the quotation marks. The exclamation point reflected my shock at her remark.

No - I was talking with a fifth grade teacher several years ago and mentioned something about writing skills. She said that they don't teach grammar anymore "because it's not on the WASL"!

"The company planned to restart last week, but that has been pushed back because of an undisclosed problem."

Hmmm - wonder if the undisclosed problem is an illegal directive from the Dept of Energy just like the one used to issue the moritorium on deep water drilling in the Gulf Coast. A Federal judge ordered that to be rescinded over a year ago but nothing has happened yet. It almost seems like the Feds want gas prices to stay high!

Maybe a reporter could look into the situation and get some information - would that be too much to ask?

I am not disagreeing with your contention that a 14 yr old is simply not old enough/mature enough to understand all of the ramifications of her decisions and is therefore unable to "consent" to sex. What I find unbeleivable though is that in the next line you go on to say that she she does have the maturity to consent to a major surgical procedure without any input from her family!.And to further compound the situation., if there is a medical or psycological complication from the abortion, since she is a minor, her parents are then left with all of the financial responsibility for a procedure they didn't even know happened!

I too have personal experence with post tramautic abortion issues and I will vigorously debate the idea that a 14-18 has the emotional stability to agree to an abortion! (Actually in many case, the abortion is a way to hide sexual abuse and the fact that the parents are not informed means that the abuse continues.)

You and I are probably closer in opinions than it seems - I think we can both agree that society and the media are over-sexualizing our kids at way too young of an age!

The irony is that, according to our legal system, a 14 year old isn't old enough to consent to sex but if that same 14 year DOES get pregnant, she is legally allowed to have an abortion without her parents' knowledge or consent. So which is it? Is she old enough to have the "right to privacy" or isn't she?
