Right you are! Including "dog" in the response gives up the gag immediately, though; in this case, I opted for a departure from traditional form to win myself several extra seconds of dad-puzzling ("Why is she telling me how she is instead of what updog is?"). I considered it a worthwhile sacrifice.

I UPDOGGED MY FATHER AND IT WAS GLORIOUS. The results were so pleasingly Dadlike.

Before texting me back, he tracked down my sister (sworn to secrecy) to ask her what it was AND left an amazingly weary and bewildered voice mail on my phone. "Hi, it's your Dad. I got your message, but I don't know ... what it is, what it means. What Updog means. Please call me."

Moral of the story is troll your Dad all you want, he'll still send you unsolicited money.

I actually find both of them so incredibly bland. Which is why I can't see "But Liam/Gale is so much more handsome!" as a reason to be Team Gale. Because I look at him and my brain sort of goes, "Ah yes, he is very handsome. Hmm. Yes. Well. I wonder what's for dinner? Do I have time to get my bangs trimmed after work?" That feeling of spontaneous loin combustion (or as I like to call it, "The Elba Factor") is completely missing.

Same. I was really trying like, "Well ... he is making some coherent-ish points about how we don't care about what happens to animals when sex isn't involved, so?"

What I am really interested to know is how/where he gets his information about what an aroused/sexually interested horse looks like. Is he just guessing? Basing it on porn? Are there consulting vets for this sort of thing?
