Disagree grandjacques. I think the CU roster of administrators right now is excellent. Some real leadership. CU - B is a great school that is poised to become greater.

He has done a great job so far. I agree completely. Good for CU Boulder!

Naive and elitist is right. She had two children. It is common in young women, you know. She had the determination and ability to multitask to complete her degree while her children were still young. What a mean-spirited post.

"BA: Vassar College, University of Colorado/Boulder" is still not correct. I interpret this to mean she has two BA degrees.

Mayor Osborne, I've always been taught by all of my universities that even minor errors in a resume denote dishonesty. This is more than a minor error and I find it impossible to believe that it is a clerical error.

Besides, it is disappointing that the mayor of Boulder doesn't seem proud of the fine CU - Boulder.

Did you read any of the facts about this case?

I don't know of any educational establishment or teacher that tries to portray any student with special needs "as bad as the most difficult cases". It is a real incorrect view of the education of children with special needs.

One big factor that is important to consider when looking at these charts is the issue of funding for students requiring Special Education services. In 1975, a federal law (IDEA) was passed that required school districts to accommodate children with special needs as much as possible, as opposed to isolating them in specials schools. While this certainly increased the costs to local schools, it is a civil rights issue, and the cost of educating these children should be distributed among all of us. For example, in Boulder Valley, 66% of the cost of this education was from local revenue (2009-10 budget on their website). Only 12% is from the state.

These students are more costly to educate, and in BVSD the average per pupil cost is about $12, 500 compared with about $4,500 for typical students.

Part of the increase in this graph after the late 70's was the increase in families being able to have their child with special needs stay in their home district and be educated in their local school.

Again, this is a cost I do not begrudge. All children have the right to be educated.

Dr. Ramig is a super expert and CU is lucky to have him. I agree with Marilyn, that in addition to being exceptional in helping people who stutter, he is a wonderful person. Glad the DC interviewed him for this. He is a perfect person to comment on this area.

I agree with this completely. I think the Camera goes after the low-hanging fruit, but I would like to see some serious reporting about our government. I would definitely like to see more about the issues with electrical energy and our future. And how transportation infrastructure decisions are made.

When public officials run for office, they typically talk about their character and beliefs, as evidenced in things they have done and supported. These issues continue to be important to the public while they are in office. I don't like media reports on issues that are not relevant to a person's role, but in the recent examples, they are.

Like most other posters, I simply do not believe the Cowles. The editorial that Ms. Cowles authored simply added to my belief that they are being deceptive and misleading.

Our city council members do not need to be perfect, and I appreciate the challenge of being in the public eye, but I didn't put them there. They ran for election voluntarily.

Anne - I disagree with you.

Thanks to the Camera for reporting on these issues. I think it is one of the most important kind of news in a very local paper.

BTW: The story about the Cowles ended up on the Huffington Post.
