I don't think the lawyer picking him up implies that any of the story is true. We can assume that they were picked up by the cops at the beginning, since there are records for that. The dirty cop robbery had to have happened. And the raid on the boat obviously took place. The events between the two robberies are highly questionable. I have no problem with large parts of the story being entirely fictitious though. The character mixing lies with the truth is perfectly plausible.

It's funny. I have a liberal friend who argues in nothing but talking points (which is why I rarely engage him), and he thinks he is thoughtful. Why? Because liberal assumptioins are taught as mainstream thinking. When you are taught the state is a provider it's much easier to seem reasonable while supporting our semi-corporatist state. To recall the founding and call for limited government becomes radical in such an environment. Unthinkingly supporting the former is understandable. Unthinkingly supporting the latter is stupid. That mentality may be slowly changing, but there's 100 years of work to undo.

Obama couldn't dream of the kind of power Wilson wielded. It was a much different time.

How does a movie that we've seen in different iterations about 100 times win Best Picture? A guy has some sort of problem. A quirky trainer comes in to help. He and the quirky trainer eventually become friends. The guy overcomes his problem. Fin.

I conducted a study on the number of unnecessary studies, and it turns out that 73% of all studies were either somewhat or entirely unnecessary. Also, if the Equal Rights Amendment had passed would women be required by law to pollute as much as men?

I liked the first few seasons of the show, but as it went on the terrible writing and too neatly wrapped up storylines got on my nerves. I haven't watched an episode since Season 7, and it's nice to know I haven't missed anything.

Wait, haven't we been listening to rhetoric like "religion of peace" and "hijacking Islam" and what not for a decade now? I'm pretty sure most everyone understands that all Muslims are not terrorists and that not all middle easterners are Muslim by now. And if not, does anyone think the people who distrust all middle easterners will be among the few million who watch a sit-com about a middle eastern family?

You didn't hear about our deal with the ChiComs to give them a sometimes funny news/political satirist in exchange for debt forgiveness? You been under a rock or something?
