Instead of stuffing their pockets with all the extra donated money, they decided to add a lot more content to the product and improve its quality. Expressing disappointment that such an investment didn't work out isn't "whining" or "immature".

Neither Trixie or Discord have been "redeemed" in my opinion.

Trixie actively sought out a dangerous and powerful magical artifact to get "revenge" on the person who called her out on being a fraud. And this is after showing up in Ponyville and harassing everyone. The fact that she apologized for being evil in the second episode doesn't make up for that. Also I just hate Trixie because she's a bad person, but has somehow become the fandom's baby.

Discord is making steps towards being reformed, but that isn't the same as being redeemed. I'm hoping he teams up with the Mane 6 to take down a larger villain in the future, at which point he may have a shot at redemption. But right now, even though he's charismatic and mischievous, he's still got a lot to make up for.
