Neither Trixie or Discord have been "redeemed" in my opinion. Trixie actively sought out a dangerous and powerful magical artifact to get "revenge" on the person who called her out on being a fraud. And this is after showing up in Ponyville and harassing everyone. The fact that she apologized for being evil in the second episode doesn't make up for that. Also I just hate Trixie because she's a bad person, but has somehow become the fandom's baby. Discord is making steps towards being reformed, but that isn't the same as being redeemed. I'm hoping he teams up with the Mane 6 to take down a larger villain in the future, at which point he may have a shot at redemption. But right now, even though he's charismatic and mischievous, he's still got a lot to make up for.

Enough demand and they may reconsider, especially given how large the Brony community is. And even if they don't make a new run of these, showing interest will let them know that there's a market for Derpy and open up the possibility of more, whether they're the exact same toy or not.

Packaging plays a big part in collections. It's why MISB collections are valued higher than ones that have been opened and used. Chances are someone who opens and plays with her isn't going to care about how "exclusive" she was, and those concerned with the value will likely keep her in the box (or at the very least keep the box). It would still be a limited and exclusive run, it's just that the exclusivity will mean more to collectors than someone who plays with her. I wouldn't be opposed to a brushy one, but they already have the stuff required to make her in this size, so why not use it? Maybe they could make her a slightly different shade of grey if it's that big of a deal. Nothing too noticeable, but distinct if you compare. Or change the mane slightly. Something to differentiate them, but still keep them similar enough.

Hopefully they'll release a non-"exclusive" version later. Different packaging and stuff, but the same toy. I find it difficult to believe that the demand wouldn't be high enough to justify a larger run. e: Any chance we can email-bomb them telling them to release/produce more?
