I'd do that in a heartbeat....but I've never heard of anything similar here. On that same topic, I've even been looking to buy a portion of a cow, and without luck. I live in the middle of cow country....and can't find a cow! How pathetic is that....

Good guest post! Luckily, outside the mortgage, I'm debt free. However, your points were crucial for me in my quest, especially the point about building savings into your plan from the beginning. Without an emergency fund, you're just asking to keep taking on debt every time something goes wrong...and something ALWAYS goes wrong! ;-)

Good stuff! Here's mine: People often assume that "buy and hold" is the same as "I don't really need to monitor it." That can wreak havoc on your retirement (or other) funds.

Our eating out has dropped dramatically over the last few weeks. For Christmas Cheryl and I gave each other a bunch of cool cooking toys. That did the trick! I think they've already paid for themselves with the difference between the tools and the food cost.....

A good strategy that works on a tight budget is to round your debt payments up to the next round number. At the very least, you're paying a little extra....which over time can take a big bite out of interest payments.

As a guy with a spouse in the medical community, this sounds close to home. Most Dr.'s are horrible bosses. They don't train their people enough and don't spend enough time looking at the world from the patient's perspective. Then again, the insurance companies also are just plain ugly, too.
