I am deeply disappointed in BJ Buchmann's failure to uphold either professional or ethical standards in this situation:
1) he censored the remarks of an intelligent young man for no good reason, and 2) he acted unethically in "outing" a student to the parents. Neither is acceptable.

In 1969, my own HS graduation remarks were censored regarding the Vietnam War and other political issues. I *thought* we had progressed a bit more than this case shows...

The principal should do the honorable thing and resign, as he is clearly unworthy of his current responsibilities and cannot fulfill them adequately.

God bless Aaron Kushner and the OC Register for daring to try something different. It just might work...
