I think we need to think of ways of restraining the human population. There's just too many people and not enough "stuff" to go around as it is. And we are the pollutingest animals on the planet. Hundreds of billions of people living on this planet? Eek. Have you seen the movie Idiocracy, by any chance?

Something I find rather sad is that the more food we produce, the more people are born, and there are still just as many, if not more, people living in starvation.

Think of it like this: You have one acre of land and two cows. If you put enough food out every day for two cows, and come back in 100 years, there'll still be two cows. If you put out enough food every day for ten cows, before you know it, there'll be ten cows.

I guess the point I'm trying to make is that releasing more food from America's food reserve does not seem to do anything to help people who are starving in the long run. There's got to be a different approach, but I don't know what it is.

My point is, you were acting pretty high and mighty... And it turns out you're just another "one of us" who has brushed shoulders with the mighty. Just read your profile, you sound like you're the Secretary of State. Get off it. We're all equals here. -But, even if you WERE the SoS, I wouldn't take your snotty attitude.

Well as big and important as you are, and since you have all the answers, I'm surprised you didn't run for president. But, surely you have Obama's ear (or at least Hillary's) so maybe you can just tell them what to do. Simple!

If I donated 25% of my income to others, I'd be living on the street. My job barely keeps food on the table.

There are those who can afford to help, but they don't tend to help others as a matter of principal.
