I agree. Most people prefer problems, solutions, explanations and stories that are simple, with premises and logic we readily understand. We don't grasp nuance well when our emotions are engaged. That's one reason progress on complex issues is slow and recursive.

I'm only an uncle (biological and honorary), but I totally agree. Milestones are milestones and only come around once per kid, so they are to be treasured.

Interesting observations. I grew up visiting the family farm / ranch and having bacon and eggs with Grandpa before keeping him company on his morning rounds. Nowadays it's usually granola and fruit.

Looking forward to seeing where this goes, Sylvia. Appropriate topic for a first strip.

No worries at this end, Kat. Look out for yourself and family, wrest some form of balance from the universe. The Grill will still be there when you can spare the resources and I for one will hail its return, no matter the wait.

Sorry things are so stressed for you right now; been there, will likely go back again and buy another damn t-shirt. Take care and seeya round!

It's been a great ride. Looking back, it puts me in mind of the short-lived series "The Girl with Something Extra", waaay back in '74, and the more recent manga "Mousou Telepathy". Both those are also about characters who are (seemingly) unique in their abilities and are just trying to deal with everyday life.

It is a bit sad to have to say goodbye to the cast of TBYT. As someone else once said: "Feel a bit sad if you like. We never like to see things end. But ending isn't all of it."

Many thanks, Sylvia.

Nice to see Becky discomfited by Jules; doesn't happen often. And in the background, it looks like Mandi and Rick have gotten back together, or are at least on better terms than they were.

A great note to leave on: sweet, funny and warm. Thanks so much for showing these people and their story to us, Sylvia. It was a brave thing to do and paid off in spades. Here's to whatever comes next.

Nice Becky zinger in the last panel. I'd love to see her at a wedding sometime. From a safe distance.

Ah, a very sweet turn into the final straightaway. Looking forward to the finish and the new journey beyond.

I'm with Jules and Brian: a happily snarky Becky is definitely preferable to a depressed, surly one.
