"Best qualified" is an extraordinarily ambiguous term, you see. For example, should it be the richest, most educated and most intelligent that get to enter higher education? Or might it be more useful for the poorest, least intelligent population? Perhaps a balance?

Are those fictional states?

If you're willing to bet your house on it, lets keep this conversation going.

You seem to be missing the fact that Washington state has no income tax, and you also seem to think we have a huge population of people making over $50 million a year who would then be willing to donate that much to charity? Your plan is troubled on many fronts.

OK, most of you don't like the Governor. I'm not shocked, and I also don't really care. You didn't like the spending increases passed by the legislature. Again, not shocked.

Whats shocking to me is how none of you seem to grasp the larger picture. Contrary to popular belief, the majority of those spending increases went to social justice problems like food, healthcare, education, and living expenses. We live in a capitalist society which tends to favor the rich, and - believe it or not - politicians like to solve some of those problems. Do they do it to 'buy votes' and save their own asses? Absolutely. Does that mean we should stop talking about the social justice problems because politicians can be icky? No.

Our entire tax system in Washington State, and thus our social justice problems, hing on the sales tax collected from however many toothbrushes and cars we buy. As shown from the proposed cuts outlined in this article, peoples ability to get food to eat every day hinges on whether you decide to buy a toothbrush this year or not. That's the broken system we should be talking about.

If you are lucky and can get a monthly garage, you might pay as low as $12/day for your spot. With metro, you pay $2.50 into the city and $2.50 out (starting Jan). $5/day. So with transit, you spend less than half what you do on parking. Thats not including the cost of buying, maintaining, and fueling a vehicle. Metro continues to be substantially cheaper.

What a weird comment. Is your statement that 'there is more to football than screaming fans'? Thank you Sherlock Holmes. You might have done better if you had kept to that 19 word limit you spoke about. I cant tell if you wrote in just to take a jab at young people or what.

Edit: having just realized you have many more bizarre comments in this story, I'm getting a better picture of your commenting style.

The line collapsed on both sides way too much. Gotta figure out the o-line. Magic happened between Williams and Hasselbeck, we just need better protection.

True! How many flags you got? I have two in my yard, 3 on my car, 4 in my study, 6 in my bedroom, and 9 between my each of my bathrooms.

You are so right. What could be more un-patriotic than a picture of the president? These people disgust me.
