we are all free to believe what we want - but at least we should base it on facts, not chain emails whose sole purpose is to inflame and fear monger... http://tinyurl.com/3mehww

true knowledge and intelligence does not fear opposition, only falsehoods masquerading as truths...

Men occasionally stumble over the truth, but most of them pick themselves up and hurry off as if nothing ever happened

''(D) enable the real-time (or near real time) determination of an individual's financial responsibility at the point of service and, to the extent possible, prior to service, including whether the individual is eligible for a specific service with a specific physician at a specific facility, which may include utilization of a machine-readable health plan beneficiary identification card;

''(E) enable, where feasible, near real-time adjudication of claims;

it's matter of consolidating billing, not collection under point D. there is no mention about accessing BANK accounts - billing accounts...
point E is what happens now - the facility contacts the insurance company and then you get a bill later...they are just talking about making things 'paperless' like most companies do now...

just my take on it...

you just made my point - if you are going to put blame on a specific group, make sure they are actually the majority of the causation and all the stats confirm 'nope'...if you go back to the stats, iv drug use accounted for even less than the heterosexual high risk women...by far...

2007 iv drug use: males (3133) + females (1806) : hr hetero female (9076)
4939:9076
about a 5:9 ratio...women are almost double...

ps: know who gives the hr females HIV/AIDS? hr HETERO dudes...

i was just trying to point out the mild irony of pointing to homosexuals when heteros are almost equally infected...whether it was not solely about gays or not - the assertion about the riskiness about gay sex was not as accurate as he may have needed to make the 'not really about gays' disclaimer...

from blog: All that being said, why not a Gay sex tax. Or a tax on items, whatever they may be, sold to gay people for use during gay sex. Look, if cigarettes and junk food cause higher health care costs because of cancer, emphysema, obesity, heart disease, just to mention a few, and more gay lovers or gay sex participants have HIV Aids, according to statistics, it only stand to reason that they should be taxed for their risky sexual habits.

since i only posted the totals on sexual activity types, i was simply comparing the three areas i had given...i was obviously 'typing while tired' last evening

22,472 (male/male): 4,551 (hr hetero male) 9,076 (hr hetero female)

about a 11:7 ratio...my point was it that it's not just a gay disease...i had excluded the other areas(IV drug use) to address the point the blogger made (see quote from blog in my other post to you) about sexual activity...i think that is clear in my originial post (even with the wrong male/male stat at first)...

i do apologize...my eyes were off on the gay male stat...

however, i do find it 'interesting' that the hetero population accounts for about 40% of the 2007 totals...

please research before you post... http://tinyurl.com/ar4l77

2007 CDC statistics from 34 states on incident of HIV/AIDS cases...

Males...
Male to Male: 3133
High Risk Hetro Sex: 4551

Females:
High Risk Hetro Sex: 9,076

Seems the hetro's are participating in more risky behaviors...

i view it as if the employer can afford the average increase of $100 per full time worker than perhaps they were in dire straights to start with...if we are to have no empathy for the worker trying to making a living, i think we need to be equal in our emotions toward the employer...there are no guarantees of success, right?
