I think maybe when I get back from Afghanistan in July, you and I should sit down and talk about tact, and respect. If you want to push your paranoid agenda in our faces, do it somewhere other than in the faces of Don's family.
I have recieved a lot of training I'm the military. That includes brig an EMT and deploying to Iraq and getting the best meical training any college could never give me. Also I've recieved a lot of training in police work and effective counter-insurgency through means more aligned with political work and not traditional military action. Also because I enlisted kn the greatest volunteer army I can go to college for free and have all my education and housin paid for...I'd like to see one college in the country match that full ride scholarship...and if any oft spellig is off it's because I'm on a phone on a cor and not on a laptop in an office.
As somebody being trained to be in Afghanistan within a month for my second deployment I can tell you with one hundred percent honesty that we aren't "being trained to kill Muslims". In fact were being trained to hand over the country and wok as partners with the afghan people to secure their own country and borders from the Taliban in Pakistan...hmmm border countrol...weird! Also I can tell you that even after 9 years the afghan people we currently work with day to day that require interperators thank us everyday for being there and tell us how much the afghan people appreciate us. The funny thing is since I made the decision to quit my job and do this deployment I've been thanked by more afghan people for my service than Americans. I also find that strange and demoralizing. BUT as long as the y appreiate it well then it makes it worth it 1000 times over
Sorry we're all stocked up on crazy tak her somewhere else. I still think there should be screening for procreation..we don't let blind people drive so why do we allow these people to take precious lives and destro them?
I'm going to be honest I'm fairly surprised too...maybe it's because were going to Afghanistan an people just hate the war that much?
We Left ourfamilies three weeks ago to train in preparation for the war in Afghanistan, and everyday our unit which is filled with people of all ages, but typically younger kids trains to be as proficient as we can on diferrent things, but one of the most important things we train on is positive identification of targets. The enemy is not a uniformed person but a hidden element among innocent civilians. Eeryday these twenty year old will make decisions in the split second that carry a thought. That thought is would you rather be carried by six or judged by twelve. Three days before we left a few under twenty one "kids" were slapped with 400 dollar fines for enjoying a couple drinks before a year long deployment. Now, I'm 26 and I like the bars quiet and calm so I really don't care either way...but when this mother says these kids are going to make their own decisions, she is right and I personally find it disgusting that we live in a society that is ready and willin to let a 17 yea old sign up and go to war o make decisions on a daily basis that will affect their lives forever, but not give the same people the right to drink a beer!
