I hear you on the tinned meat thing - Im hopelessly addicted to tinned corned beef. I only have it every 6 months or so, but when i get a craving, i have to run to the shops quick smart. It was a food my grandmother fed us a lot as children - she never got out of the WWII mentality of cooking. It still brings back lots of fond memories..

Peanut butter on toast with grilled cheese on top is really tasty; you need to use a sharp cheddar though.
