My gf is a big fan of Target, I jokingly call it "Made in China Outlet Store," but you're right. Most of the stuff from all the big retailers is Made in PROC.

If you don't want an NBA team because you just are not a fan, then fine. Don't go. If you don't like hockey either, then still, don't go. Just don't be shortsighted, and not see the advantage of having a guaranteed annual 41 nights of basketball and possibly 41 nights of hockey in the city. The amount of people and income to the city is worth the public investment, which in the end is paid for by the people who actually attend those events!

No, approve the deal because it makes sense! Taxpayer approval? Isn't that why we elect the mayor, a city council, etc? We can't vote on every little thing. Nothing would ever get done. Hell, things the way they are still take forever because everyone wants to talk about them ad nausem.

This deal is good for the Seattle, and good for the state. Its good for everyone who wants all those tax revenues from $70 tickets and $10 beers. Or from 18,000 people coming into Seattle for a game several nights a year, plus concerts and other shows there year round. Or all the restaurants and bars who gain the extra patronage. Or how about all the concessions and merchandise sold at the arena, and the companies that make it? Those buns and hot dogs, and many other foods are not being made in China!

Remodeling Key Arena is a bad idea, a bad area (for traffic, not crime), and completely inconvenient to get to, unless you live there already. SODO is where it should be.

Last I checked, your house didn't entice me to come to your neighborhood and spend money on food, beer, tickets, etc! You short-sighted individuals who don't realize the amount of money for the state these arenas and stadiums GENERATE is astonishing! The fact that you would compare a house that might hold 4-8 people to live in, to an arena that would attract 18000+ for Hockey, Basketball, and all the concerts and events is truly astonishing. Not to mention all those people who would use the light rail more to get to those events, or go to restaurants in the area, buy jerseys and other merchandise, or all the companies who would supply those items.

The real story here is the idiot on the council who doubts how good this would be for Seattle, or how great this deal is. Especially compared to other deals that we have had, or other cities have had.

approve the deal, and this 500k+ gets paid for by hansen. Plus, the 200 million in bonds gets paid for by the people who actually go see the games. There, no money from the public, except the public that wants to pay for it.

Bellevue traffic sucks, and it will suck even more if the stadium goes there. I can promise you I wouldn't drive to Swell-vue to go to a game.
