My gf is a big fan of Target, I jokingly call it "Made in China Outlet Store," but you're right. Most of the stuff from all the big retailers is Made in PROC.

If you don't want an NBA team because you just are not a fan, then fine. Don't go. If you don't like hockey either, then still, don't go. Just don't be shortsighted, and not see the advantage of having a guaranteed annual 41 nights of basketball and possibly 41 nights of hockey in the city. The amount of people and income to the city is worth the public investment, which in the end is paid for by the people who actually attend those events!

No, approve the deal because it makes sense! Taxpayer approval? Isn't that why we elect the mayor, a city council, etc? We can't vote on every little thing. Nothing would ever get done. Hell, things the way they are still take forever because everyone wants to talk about them ad nausem. This deal is good for the Seattle, and good for the state. Its good for everyone who wants all those tax revenues from $70 tickets and $10 beers. Or from 18,000 people coming into Seattle for a game several nights a year, plus concerts and other shows there year round. Or all the restaurants and bars who gain the extra patronage. Or how about all the concessions and merchandise sold at the arena, and the companies that make it? Those buns and hot dogs, and many other foods are not being made in China!

Remodeling Key Arena is a bad idea, a bad area (for traffic, not crime), and completely inconvenient to get to, unless you live there already. SODO is where it should be.

Last I checked, your house didn't entice me to come to your neighborhood and spend money on food, beer, tickets, etc! You short-sighted individuals who don't realize the amount of money for the state these arenas and stadiums GENERATE is astonishing! The fact that you would compare a house that might hold 4-8 people to live in, to an arena that would attract 18000+ for Hockey, Basketball, and all the concerts and events is truly astonishing. Not to mention all those people who would use the light rail more to get to those events, or go to restaurants in the area, buy jerseys and other merchandise, or all the companies who would supply those items. The real story here is the idiot on the council who doubts how good this would be for Seattle, or how great this deal is. Especially compared to other deals that we have had, or other cities have had.

approve the deal, and this 500k+ gets paid for by hansen. Plus, the 200 million in bonds gets paid for by the people who actually go see the games. There, no money from the public, except the public that wants to pay for it.

KOMO - Seattle, WA : Local brewery to release very, very strong beer | Business | Downtown Seattle News

I am by no means a professional brewer, but I have brewed at home for many years. Basically beers usually top out at a certain percentage because the yeast simply can't do its work as efficiently the higher the alcohol content goes. The yeast eats the fermentable sugars in the wort (what they call beer before its fermented/alcoholic) and produce the alcohol. In order to make a bottle of beer that is 18-20% alcohol, you need a ton of malt, and you need a specialty yeast that will still be able to work at those alcohol levels. I tried to make one once, but the taste wasn't so great. Of course that was years ago when I was fairly new to brewing. We named it "Git Lit"

Radiation does not need to enter through a cut or breathing it in! Its not a blood borne virus or a airborne disease. A radioactive item near you is quite enough. That being said, most of the debris (in my opinion) is NOT radioactive! When all of that got destroyed and washed out to sea, the reactors had not yet melted down as far as I can remember.

I personally prefer the cold and rain. I can always put on a jacket, but if its too hot, not much to do except deal with it. We could not hit 80 all summer and I'd love every moment of it. Maybe if the weather is 'crappy' long enough, the Californians that moved up here will move back?
I keep reading over and over people complaining about how the justice system is screwed up, they won't let him plead guilty, blah blah blah. Did any of you actually read the article, or did you skim and then post a comment straight out of your rectum? He cannot enter a plea of any kind at his arraignment. That's the way it works. There is a process to the court system, and while I'll admit the court system has its flaws (name one that doesn't!), there are reasons for the cases to have certain hearings at certain times, and those hearings are for certain purposes. Just like at your job, you have procedures for how you do things. An outsider might be dumb enough to take a glance at what you're doing and suddenly question why you are doing something a certain way, and proceed to tell you how you should do it, because it would be "smarter." Think before you speak, people.

I recently spent a couple nights in Mt Vernon for a bowling tournament, and stayed at a hotel both nights. I didn't think to rip off the sheets and check my bed for stains, urine and syringes because I think its reasonable to assume the hotel I'm paying money to will at least change the sheets before I get there.
