Pretty sure Shannon was a third baseman. Moved there from right when they picked up Maris in '67.
Carter unfortunately didn't get the recognition he deserved because he started up in Montreal, and he was over shadowed by another great catcher a few years ahead of him, but still of that time: Johnny Bench.
I saw the name "Michael Shannon" and immediately thought of the former Cardinals third baseman/Current voice of the Cardinals. April can't get here soon enough!
