Well, if people are dumb enough to even think that texting while driving might be a good idea, then they're probably dumb enough to need some gadget to help them control themselves. Before the news started reporting on such things I never even thought about texting while driving. The idea was just that blindingly stupid.

Why are some commenters surprised that this movie came from Disney? There was this ride in the park of the same name that existed before the movies. With the pirates plundering, drinking, and chasing the women even. The old Disney stuff wasn't purely just for kids. Like other old cartoons it was safe for kids to watch without being downright stupid. New Disney is what you get when bean counters try and be "creative".

My mom made an observation back when she ran a small daycare and had trouble just getting parents to pay on time. She said people today are so willing to shell out the bucks for their houses or their fancy cars, but not when it comes to their kids. It's obvious from the comments about the teachers that she was correct.
Oh, and for the record I have 3 grandparents that were teachers. I remember quite clearly being babysat by one grandma where I was dragged to her classroom while she worked after hours.

If fireworks get banned then it's from people being irresponsible.
A co-worker who lives where it's legal says that many that do buy fireworks don't set them off on their property. They go to a public place like the park and ride lot because they don't want the mess in their yards. So the "patriots" leave a huge mess for someone else. She said the parking lot looked like a bunch of cardboard boxes exploded all over the place.
I believe another poster already said with freedom comes responsibility. The real whiners are the ones that want to shoot the fireworks without the inconvenience of using common sense and cleaning up their mess.

And yes, I do miss shooting them off in a neighborhood with reasonable people in it.

I used to be a regular Amazon customer, but I'm not sure now. My parents had a pretty bad experience with their account getting crossed with someone else's. The other person is probably still wondering where their stuff is. Amazon denies their computers might have messed up. Their profit won't stay up if they treat enough people that way.

larry> I'm just answering the request to plug a local CU. :) If the Bellevue branch has that set up, the other ones might too. I also found if you belong to one CU, you can make free withdrawls from the BECU ATMs inside Safeway stores. At least I would hope that's safer. :/

I bank at Watermark Credit Union. I highly reccomend them. They really look out for their members. And the ATM at my branch in Bellevue is inside. Members use their ATM cards to open the door after hours.

The ones complaining about their rates going up really annoy me. All I'm guilty of is living underneath someone who's selling their condo and was too cheap to turn the heat on. The break was on the top floor and went all the way down through the building. Now I'm spending the holidays camping on my parents' couch instead of being in my own home. Hopefully the next home I buy wont' be attached to anybody else's. Then I only have to worry about my own mistakes.

Knew there was a reason I loved my little 4 banger Jeep Patriot. :D

I bought a 2007 Jeep Patriot last year. It's rated at 28 mpg. The interior could be better, but then again, it's a Jeep. I could also afford it. The RAV4s in the same year were up to $6,000 to $7,000 more expensive than what I paid. I believe they got less gas mileage too.
Main things I would improve on the Jeep is getting the diesel version over here or one that uses an alternative fuel all together.
