I've been jailbreaking and unlocking for a few years already, so I'm confident in my terminology. Please don't assume I've made those mistakes.
I had jailbroken my iPhone 4 on iOS 5.0.1. It is factory unlocked, so I didn't need an unlock. I downloaded the 5.1.1 GSM firmwear from iclarified and used pwnage tool to create a custom ipsw. I restored to that ipsw and while that seemed to work, I had no service.
I tried the other iphone 4 5.1.1 GSM firmwear and did the same. It again seemed to work, but still gives me no service.
What am I doing wrong? Can someone help me? Please!

I am fairly confident of this, but I want to ask anyway, just to be sure. I have a full-price (never locked) iPhone 4. I'm jailbroken on 4.3.3. I'd like to upgrade to iOS 5, and I don't want to be tethered. I'm willing to give up my jailbreak temporarily, but just love my SBS toggles so much that I don't want to be without them for long. I just want to be EXTRA sure that by updating without jailbreaking now I am not preventing myself from jailbreaking when an untethered jailbreak comes out.
Can anyone say with confidence that that's the case?
Thanks!!!
