I just watched the video and almost cried with gratitude. Please see JUSTICE FOR KELLY THOMAS on Facebook. Portland Police are now working with the Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) and this is evidence that it works!

I am so glad that the police decided to leave the poor guy alone. He could have been mentally ill and the situation didn't warrant someone getting hurt or killed. Thank you Portland Police!

I am so sorry about your loss. I come from a large family and have lost a couple cousins. They were killed in tragic accidents. One cousin made a poor decision and it cost him his life at 18 years old. It didn't matter why or how it happened. The grief is bad enough without driving yourself insane by wishing you had done something differently. I can only hope that those who loved this child somehow find comfort.

I am all for parents taking responsibility for their children. I just don't agree with finger-pointing when you don't have the details. I also feel strongly that people make mistakes and it isn't my place to make judgement. Not all people INTEND to leave the door open to the pool or run over their child while backing out of a driveway. These families are likely suffering enough without some JERK voicing his opinion over something he knows nothing about.
