Found out tonight at work that leave of absence is not acceptable except for military service. There are several offices that are part time here in the boonies so it'll probably be trustee. Thanks for the cheer Boopster.

Call your state, county and city boards of election and ask for a candidate guide. I was surprised at how helpful our were. Do it to it and good luck.

This might be it P2O, do'nt mean to steal your thunder. I think we should keep it going. Correct me if I'm wrong but the idea was also to deluge the boards of election with candidates , wasn't it?

winecup, CC is as good as any, ours don't come up till '12 but trustees will be in '10. I need to find out if I can take leave of absence at work, should the impossible happen. : )

A couple weeks ago Patriot2Opine put out the idea to get 912'ers to run for office. Not much discussion since. I have received a candidates guide from our county and am still waiting for the same from the state. Have'nt decided what to run for yet, the U.S senator I would like to oppose does'nt come up for firing till '12. I think I'm going to run on "I can balance my checkbook" or " I would'nt know what I'm doing, either". Seriously though, I saw a few who already had campaigns started, has anyone else picked up the ball?

I'm not playing Itoldjaso but according to the news yesterday, Pelosi calling the CIA a bunch of liars has been swept under the rug. The double standard at work in living color. One of our senators is retiring next year and does'nt care, the other has never listened to us anyway and we called and emailed both about the issue as I'm sure darn near everyone on here has. Apologies if someone has already brought this up, can't read all of them.
