That might possibly work if theu are targeting rural America where technology-friendliness isn't the top of the list of charatcteristics. Then again, would they have the money to buy and would they be getting the genre of music right? That's anybody's guess

There have been some services launched which will probably test this theory of making things easy for consumers to do so. One of them is called MagicJack (http://www.magicjack.com/1/index.asp ) a service that my entire family living in 3 different continents use. It is a USB device that you connect to your internet-enabled computer which you then connect to a phone or use headsets with. It is as simple as plug and play. All you pay is a basic setup fee for the first time and a yearly fee of $35 for unlimited calls through the year for a US-based phone number. This is such a simple yet obvious invention that even my grandparents use it. While it won't be free as VoIP needs to make money somewhere, it does not charge per minute thus not putting a time pressure on people while they talk. Maybe this was the model the VoIP users of the world were looking for. Obviously this is biased towards the US, but I'm sure it could soon be generalised across different countries as well

To add to the points made above, I agree with the statements made. In these times, I still don't see a big change in consumer behaviour atleast in the cases I see in the shops, people still purchasing expensive clothes, taking vacations, doing a lot of the stuff considered "luxuries" even by some reasonably well-off homes in India. I believe it is more to do with wanting to have the same lifestyle as good times in these tough months. I think that's why the challenge seems significantly bigger. But that's just my view

The chicken actually did pushups ... amazing ... they must have thought a lot about what are the possible commands people might give... as for the target .. its like the Cadbury ads .. why have a drum playing Gorilla ... it's all about getting people's attention

Hmm .. that might not be a feasible enough approach given that the ads are put by the website owners and companies such as Google that provide free services such as search, gmail, documents etc. If every service goes onto the fee based use model then I don't know how many would really subscribe

To add to Utku's point above, one possibility is to partner up with Trend or McAfee or similar players to test the application out in a test bed before deploying the application in FB.

One factor that I think would play a part would be the amount of support that the Android gets from say T1 or someone who is responsible, especially if there were problems. If T-mobile does not support the software, then it might become a pain for users, especially the less tech-savvy ones. Any ideas on the support system surrounding the G1 and other similar Android based phone?

I would also like to know how people came to your blog in the first place. Did they search for your blog or come from some link somewhere else? Interesting post!!

haha ... this is an awesome post Polina ... I agree with most of what you've said. I feel the point about inviting headings is especially key ... something that asks the reader to think about the question or call upon your curiosity ... and the timing one is very accurate... I've noticed that a lot as well... what I don't agree much with as suggested above is linking as reference is required. While the gist of it could be included in the article, people might want to know more.
Another rule I would probably add - if a lot of comments then I would like to read more about the blog as well ... though this is a chicken-egg situation
