I am reminded of a story my Dad told me when I was about 12 (a LONG time ago). He was in a union because he was required to be for his job. He did NOT like the union. When he was going to vote on something at that time, there were three or four union thugs standing where everyone had to pass. One of them flashed a knife while another blocked the path. The one with the knife looked at my Dad and said "Make sure you vote the union way bud" A guy behind my Dad pulled out a pistol and said "We'll vote how we please, and if you pull anything like this again, you'll never have to worry about another vote. If you guys are still here when we come back, well, It'll not be good." Dad said all them ran away and he never saw them again. The fellow with the pistol told Dad they were "enforcers who had been brought in to intimidate the local guys.. Didn't work too well.
