I guess all the area hotels, restaurants, shops, cabs, etc. with thousands of employees and all the millions of people that attend the games year in year out ( from all over the NW, Alaska & Canada) spending $$$ and of course, paying B&O and sales tax do not count for anything. I am sure the business owners around Queen Anne are glad those pesky Sonics are gone.

Let's cut to the chase and really reduce spending by taking a good hard look at where the real money is spent:
Defense, Medicare/Medicaid, Social Security. Privatize them all, Blackwater is a start, Group Health for the Elderly and the AIG retirement plan. No more tax cuts for the wealthy. Open market the whole shebang this will cut the deficit like no other method. If you want to really do it this, this is the only way to affect real change.

Chicago homicides thru 8/1/10= 310
LA homicides thru 8/22/10= 420
NYC homicides thru 7/1/10= 341
I know, I know, Seattle is so small compared to these three cities but you made the comparison.

Why do you mock Barack while he is only working to get his administration going?
You choose to ignore the damage caused by our current President who specializes in Lazy faire ( most vacations of any president) policy, Deregulate and let greed run amok ( just like his S&L scandal ridden brother), $12B a month to Iraq debaq, shredding of the Constitution while deriding the Geneva Convention? Then there is massive deficit spending, unemployment, Social Security/Medicare's looming bailout and where is bin Laden and why is he still at large?
What ever happen to "The Buck stops here" level of responsibility?

Fact check for Saneman and Liberalism:
The first modern liberal state was the United States of America founded on the principle that "all men are created equal; that they are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights; that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
Question for Saneman.... if liberalism is responsible for being soft on crime therefore increasing crime rates why are the highest murder and total crimes per state found in the Red states of South Carolina, Tennessee, Louisiana, Alabama and Arkansas. I could keep listing Red states for quite awhile but these are the top 5.
