Mosier is a good place for these protester. Keeps them away from the much more populated areas where they can't interfere with the good citizens.

"What Jobs" well its kinda hard to find one if you don't look. Here is a few.
HOOD RIVER COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT
HOOD RIVER VALLEY
MID COLUMBIA CHILDREN'S COUNCIL
PEER SUPPORT COORDINATOR
THE FRUIT COMPANY
CAREGIVER
DENTAL ASSISTANT
HRVHS ATTENDANCE SECRETARY
RECEPTIONIST

If you did some research you'd know that Walmart does contribute to the community.

Seems like the City don't know how to manage employees. City Manager and mayor need to be replaced along with a few others. I think this will be the second time the city is sued for something similar.

I can see why you become defensive. I would too if I was told I wasn't doing a job that I was paid for or volunteered for. Sounds like to many Chiefs and not enough Indians. I'm reminded of a quote which says " The world is full of willing people; some willing to work , the rest willing to let them".
I don't make you sound lousy. I call it like its seen. I don't know if you burned the marshmallows but I'm sure you can try on the next fire. Instead of singing Cubaya here is a new one for you ; ) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kQlNrn90pdg
I bow my head to those that are humble and do what they do not for recognition, but for commitment to a duty.

What I want ,like most people is if your going to call yourself a Fire fighter. Be one and not be a glory hound as it seems. Don't do the deed for the title of fire fighter for community recognition. Im in no way bitter and I don't mind paying taxes to support you, but Geez seems like most house fires end up burning to ground. The same outcome could have been accomplished with $3.00 buckets and a tank of water. The left over funds utilized to purchased all those trucks and equipment could have gone to another organization. (Not the library LOL)

Were not talking about where you came from. It's the here and now where we do pay taxes and the equipment is there. What's the point of wasting money, getting the equipment just to look good for the community. WOW! Ellen I'm not sure what your thought is regarding a firefighters risk, but I got news for you, fire fighting is dangerous and there are inherent risks.Thats why there are those that do and those that don't.
The funniest thing about your statement is if I will pay your hospital bills. Will I wont have to because there is still insurance involved along with community and 2nd you wont get hurt saving my foundation, so please let it burn it will be cheaper. Give the tax $ many back to the citizens.

Well this is not the first time they, the 38+ "firefighters" have managed to save a foundation. I expect that if they, the 38+ "firefighters" volunteer or paid are given the title "firefighter" they should do just that fight the fire. There was enough of them to hold hands, circle the house and sing Cumbayá and I'm sure there would have been an extra body to roast marshmallows.
You must think because they are volunteer, there is no cost to the tax payer. If you own a home you may want to look at your tax statement. There is the hundreds of thousands in equipment. I.E. trucks, hoses, turn out gear, etc.
You say I should do it, well I have, but got tired of being a parade "firefighter".

Unfortunately there are people in the local government like Arthur Babitz. I don't think he has his nose in it, but people like him in have no business in government.
