The issue, from my perspective, is not about strengths or accomplishments or fruits, not about coming OUT of the closet, but what's left IN the closet when someone comes out to teach. What isn't known about oneself or is only vaguely recognized that will impact the non-teacher (aka the student?) in ways that impede his/her self-recognition. There is no question that teaching benefits the teacher. The questions that need answers are the ones that hang on the skeleton in the closet.
