We were out of money in 2003 when we started the war with Iraq. But enough people buried their heads (somewhere) and said "I don't care if we don't have the money! This is somethin' that we just gotta do 'cause it just gotta get done." The entire war wasn't even on the budget!

Now, here we (*gasp* liberals) are trying to keep education somehow affordable (or at least something you can afford to finance) and people are *shocked* at the *outrageousness* of trying to accomplish something when we're out of money?

Maybe liberals need to trump up stories of weapons of mass destruction to get us embroiled in a war? oh wait, that's been done...back in 2003. Good thing it was "Mission Accomplished". In 2003. Of course, 90% of the casualties of the war were realized *after* "Mission Accomplished"

Why is it people can argue with such moral certainty that liberals are going to destroy the country by trying to help people get health care and education, but those same people cannot argue with that same moral certainty that we shouldn't spend money we don't have on killing people?

Sure, baseball is a game of statistics. But more than that, its a game of stories, and Galarraga isn't just the guy who pitched one of 21 perfect games. Now he's the guy who really pitched a perfect game, and showed he was a perfect gentleman in the way he reacted during and after the game.

I think Joyce and Galarraga handled this with grace and I'm impressed. Congratulations Galarraga, your "perfect" game is now one of a kind!

"...the regular Belltown drug traffickers were no longer seen in that neighborhood. They appeared to have been replaced by a large group of young Honduran males"

Sheesh! More good American jobs taken way by illegals!

(One wonders why the "regular drug traffickers" were able to become regulars at all...)

Whether the trucks could deliver or not is one issue. Another, however, is the utter lack of organization and leadership at the distribution center.

If people can drive to the distribution center to will-call their packages, why are they not available for pickup? Is it so hard to inventory where the packages are *before* they are thrown into the black hole known as a retainer trailer. Surely the bad road conditions didn't affect the abilities of people to scan packages and sort them in the safety of the distribution center.

Instead, we have a 60 trailer backlog with no end in sight.

Hold the presses! If we start investing in things like heating and plumbing in old schools, then Joe the Plumber wins after all!

Until the Supreme Court ruled on Loving v. Virginia in 1967, anti-miscegenation statutes were definitely on the books. Virginia's was the "Racial Integrity Act of 1924" which made marriage between a white and a non-white a felony.

We've come a long way...Obama wins Virginia with 52%....

I believe in free speech, so I agree that unless this DVD Is inciting people and endangering people, we shouldn't limit its distribution.

However, to your comment "We're actually intelligent enough to sort it out" -- Really? You might be, and I might be, but when Muslims put ads on the side of Metro busses to try to get people interested about the differences between radical Islamic extremists and mainstream Islam, the responses were particularly ignorant.

"Too bad Islam isn't as concerned with stopping terrorism as they are with educating people about 'real' Islam... I think I've (already) learned enough."

"... I'm glad your not in charge of the safety and security of the United States. Maybe you should educate yourself about Islam... "

There's a lot of intolerant people out there who are looking for this DVD as a validation of their bigotry.

(I know, I grabbed the most ignorant of the responses to get my point across...unfortunately, these bigots are like cockroaches -- when you see a few on the floor, you've got hundreds in the walls.)
