You know - I was in a very similar frame of mind yesterday morning. The tides of fortune had once again washed my season away. The tin arse luck of my opponents once again stuffed me.

I then had a bit of a epiferny. I was down visiting a mate at the wrist, knuckle and finger hospital. His hands are completely stuffed. They're going to have to lop both of them off. As I walked in there I found him bashing away at his iPad with his elbow. Sweat drippin off his forehead. Look of fierce determination in his eyes. Nurses exchanging glances and nodding at me in a way that just said to me "let him go. Just let him do what he's trying to do."

I walked over to his bedside and you know what he was doing?

He was trying to execute the Josh Kelly loophole after his 123 on Friday night. With his elbow. With his bloody elbow friends. I asked his if he wanted a hand and you know what he said to me lads?

"Blow it out your arse Jock. My season's rooted. My hands are rooted. But you know what? I will never chuck it in mate. Never. Ever will I chuck in the towell."

I left him there bashing away at his Ipad screen. He was still trying just to hit the SuperCoach icon when I left him. He kept opening up Candy Crush which was the one beside it. But he kept trying. Kept Trying.

If a handless prick whose season stuffed can't inspire a man I don't know what can.

We should count ourselves extremely lucky folks.
