On Monday, you should inquire of the many local Credit Unions in you area, and transfer any deposits, certificates, and accounts you have with your existing bank to a Credit Union. Attached is a simple explanation fo the differences between the two, and you'll find that you get all of the same, if not better, services thru your Credit Union.

Part1. Extend payment terms to your customers that allow them to defer a portion of your revenue until the 4th quarter of 2009. While this will limit your cash flow, it will also reduce your tax burden with quarterly filings as you'll not appear as profitable. The gov't can't dictate the payment terms you extend to your customers.
Part2. When you receive you 4th quarter windfall, do not file your 4th quarter taxes until 4/15/2010. This is you right, as you do not need to make amends for the prior year until 4/15 of the following year. This means that your customers will retain more cash on hand, you'll be deferring a large portion of your tax liability into 2010, and the Treasury doesn't get paid until 3-6 months AFTER you get paid.....try it you'll like it....
Part3. Make generous contributions to the Not-FOr-Profit of your choice when you find that you've miscalculated, as every dollar you contribute lessens your tax burden by $.17
Write your elected representatives and tell them exactly what you're doing and why.....Write, Meet, Vote.....

Part1: Go into work on Monday to your HR office and adjust your withholding on your W4 Form. Take 8-10 more exemptions than you normally have claimed, which will minimize the withholding amount, increase your take-home pay, and reduce the revenue paid to the Treasury. The single biggest impact that we have collectively is to "Stop Feeding This Pig".
Part2: With you newly found excess of income, make contributions to the Not-For-Profit organization of YOUR choice. Every dollar that you contribute to a private NFP is $.17 less that the government receives at the time you file
Part3: Write to your representatives and tell them exactly why you've done this, and encourage all of your friends and co-workers to do the same.
Part4: Do not file an income tax return for 2009. When you maximize your withholding, you will most like owe for the following year. Don't file, don't pay, and there aren't enough jail cells to hold us all.....Write, Meet, Vote....
